The Sonic Amplifier’s primary firing method is a close-to-medium range automatic barrage of soundwaves, and even though this weapon is relatively weak, its sheer accuracy allows for you to pick up eliminations left and right with clever aiming. Lucio’s secondary fire is far more interesting, as it’s a knock-back blast that operates on a cooldown, making it perfect for taking out snipers that you sneak around. On maps that feature opportunities to plummet to one’s death, there’s nothing more satisfying (or frustrating) than having Lucio push you off of the stage while you attempt to line up a headshot. Oh, and if you’re in a situation where Roadhog, Reaper or D.Va is wreaking close-range havoc, this is an exceptionally useful skillThe first thing you need to know when playing as Mercy is that you’re not in it for the kills. It’s entirely possible that Mercy might be the only character you have a negative K/D ratio with, and that’s actually totally fine. The name of the game with Mercy is to heal your teammates, and as such, pulling out your Caduceus Blaster should be a last resort. Think about it: any moment you’re using your relatively under-powered offensive weapon is a moment where you could be letting one of your teammates die. Granted, Mercy wouldn’t have a pistol if she didn’t need to use it at times, but it shouldn’t be the main item that you use when picking this character. After a few minutes, it was clear that Blizzard’s biggest goal when creating overwatch 2 Anniversary Event was to instill a sense of inclusivity, and this extends beyond the ethnicities of the playable characters. Aside from characters that originate from countries such as Brazil, China, Japan, India, the United Kingdom and more, Overwatch features a nice mix of both female and male characters. And while plenty of the female characters resemble the traditional female body types seen in games, characters such as Mei and Zarya buck the trend of tall, slender females. There’s also a couple of robot characters and a highly-intelligent gorilla, which just showcases Blizzard’s creative abilities even more.
Now, it seems like another such update is on the way. Blizzard revealed a set of patch notes for hero balance and bug fixes that is available to play on the Heroes of the Storm PTR right now. Historically, these updates usually come between three and five weeks before they are implemented into the actual game, meaning players can expect these changes to go live in about a moNo, Jeff Goodman had a big hand in designing Tracer. He’s our lead hero designer, and she was the first hero that we designed on the project. There’s just something about her abilities that just worked together, and how different she feels when you’re playing as her compared to a lot of other games. When we implemented her, and got her into our first map (which we were developing at the same time), we started getting guarded enthusiasm about the game. With one hero and one map, we were having a ton of fun.Maybe it’s a little naive to say it, but, for me, I’ve been playing the game now for two years at home, and I come back to it every night because it’s fun. We are trying to make, first and foremost, an incredible fun and exciting game, and on top of that, we have other systems in there. We have a progression system and it works together with a loot box system that we have so that you can unlock different cosmetic items for your character. We also have a competitive mode, which is sort of like a ranked mode. So we definitely have a lot of systems in [Overwatch], but at it’s heart, we just want the game to be incredibly fun.Mercy also boasts a slightly passive perk known as Angelic Decent, which allows her to fall slowly when in the air by holding the jump prompt. This not only allows her to hide in plain sight, but it will also allow for moments of healing without being right in the thick of the action (survival is the name of the game with Mercy). Finally, Mercy’s ultimate seems simple to use, but it’s a wonderful way to frustrate your team if you’re careless. Resurrect gives Mercy the power to revive fallen teammates, which is exceptionally useful when trying to take over an objective or win in overtime. However, simply spamming the ultimate button whenever a teammate dies isn’t the most effective use of this ability, as it can often mean causing a swift second death. We recommend waiting for either multiple teammates to be down, or timing it for a massive push on an objective. As always, remember that Mercy is there to help, so in order to play this character effectively, you need to be committed to the success of others, which might not be your style if you’re always seeking your next triple kill.If you’re looking to dive into the world of being a tank but don’t necessarily want to just absorb damage or worry about only fighting at close range, then D.Va is the character for you. What makes this particular hero unique is that she’s an absolute beast when inside of her mech, but once its health reaches zero, D.Va essentially gets a second life as a light glass cannon. While D.Va is inside of her mech, her main weapons are her Fusion Cannons, which allow her to fire unlimited ammo at short range. Despite the fact that these weapons function like machine guns, they shouldn’t be thought of in the same manner as, say, Bastion’s Recon weapon, as their range is considerably shorter than one would expect. Still, if you’re looking to cause more damage than anyone else on your team, then you could do a lot worse than peppering your foes with D.Va’s Fusion Cannons. A small note, D.Va loses a great deal of her movement speed when using these weapons, so you’re not going to want to just permanently hold down the fire button.
